School History

This school was named in honor of Madge T. James who served as Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education of the Webb City R-7 School District for 39 years. Mrs. James, a mother of five, generated a love for learning...all five of her children graduated from college and two went on to become educators.

Madge T. James Kindergarten Center was built in 1998. The school houses 9 classrooms, a Title 1 Classroom, a Computer Lab, a Speech and Language room, a Multi-purpose room, a Center room, a STEM room, a Motor Lab, a Special Education resource room, a Counselor room, an Art room and a Music room.

In 2009, construction began on an addition that would include 4 additional rooms and a set of bathrooms.

In 2014, construction began on an addition that would be our Safe Room, which includes a gym, a Library Media Center, and a set of bathrooms.
